This cake is for a bridal shower - the bride's colors are red, white and black.
Top tier is chocolate and bottom white - both with buttercream filling.
This beautiful design was inspired by Classic Confections - their cakes are spectacular!
This is a blog to display my passion for cake!

I've finally figured out what to do with all those cake scraps - cake truffles (also lovingly known as cake balls). Here are some cake truffles that I made for the last meeting of our Jr. High Bible Study for the Summer. They are made out of white cake, a little
bit of creamy peanut butter, some buttercream icing, dipped in chocolate and decorated. Yum!
This was a fun kid's cake for a one year old birthday party. The parents gave me free reign, and just gave me the picture of the decorations for the party (that's my favorite way to work!) The bottom tier is white cake with lemon filling, middle is white cake with strawberry filling, and the top is white cake with vanilla buttercream. The little truck is cake, too and is for the little guy to smash to pieces!
Since I have been gone for a few weeks and cake orders in the summer have slowed down, I was itching to bake! So I use my Jr. High girls, that I work with at church, as motivation to get the powdered sugar flowing. My house was this week's place for our Bible study so I wanted to give cupcakes a whirl.
I made confetti cupcakes with French vanilla cake batter and colored sugar sprinkles. The icing is regular buttercream tinted a "oh so girly" pink with edible shimmer, and a fondant flower to top it off. I thought they turned out pretty cute for a last minute, thrown together dessert and they were pretty tasty too!
This cake was for Judy, a fragrance model that works for Angel. They wanted it to be an "Angel" cake so these are the colors of the box and I traced the bottle to get the right shape star. Flavors: white cake w/ white buttercream filling, chocolate cake w/ peanut butter filling.
This weekend was my parent's 40th wedding anniversary! Dad wanted to surprise mom with a fun party with friends and family - so he called me early in the week and asked me, "can you just build me a cake?" He didn't care what was on it or what it looked like so I took this opportunity to try some new things!
I have been wanting to try royal icing accents - I made a ton of pieces and almost all of them broke when I tried to attach them to the cake! I learned a lot about what works and what doesn't (mostly what doesn't!)
Bottom tier was white wedding cake with white buttercream filling, middle was yellow cake with raspberry filling, and top was chocolate cake with chocolate filling.

Here's another fun cake from this weekend - needless to say my kitchen is a mess! A girl I work with asked for a cake that was not too fun, and not too pretty but a little bit of both - I hope she likes my idea for her request! I love this cake - it's just so cute! The top tier is yellow cake with chocolate buttercream filling and the bottom tier is chocolate cake with white buttercream icing. Yummy!
